Kindergarten Visit
Today the kindergarten children from the Public School and St Edward’s Primary school will visit us to say hi.
Committee Meeting
Our committee meet twice a term on Tuesdays week 3 and week 7. We would love to have parents / caregivers and community members join us. It is a great way to see where the Preschool is at and where it is going. We are a community run Preschool if we do not have a committee we do not have a preschool.

StEPS eye screening for children 4 year +
The StEPS program is an initiative of NSW Health and offers all 4 years old children free vision screening. NSW Health advises all children to have their vision screened before they start school. They recommend that all four year old children take part in StEPS.
The program identifies childhood vision problems early, before children start school. This means early treatment for the best possible outcomes.
Marra Bula Ngumbaay Package
This is an indigenous cultural program and that will run on a Wednesday for 8 weeks and will include:
· Teaching of a dance(s)
· Teaching of traditional animal movements (Emu, Kangaroo, Goanna etc)
· Learn the meaning of Traditional Symbols and how to draw them
· Ochre paint
· Counting 1-10 in language
· Reading of a Dreamtime story
· Symbols with sand & glue

Last Day Term 4
Today is the last day for Term 4. Have a wonderful Christmas Break. For those leaving the Preschool, good luck with your new adventures. For those returning we look forward to seeing you in 2024.
End of Year Celebration
Our End of Year celebration is a causal get together, for families of the attending children. We will present the children with their end of year books and gifts, and they may sing and dance if they are happy to join in. A sausage sizzle will be available if ordered prior to the night. The gate will open at 5:00pm with preordered sausage sizzle available, presentations will happen at 6:00pm. Children who attend Preschool will be presented with a cupcake at the end of the presentation. If you have other children attending and you would like them to have a cupcake please provide this.
Last Day Term 3
Today is the last day for Term 3. We hope you enjoy the break. See you again in two weeks for the last term 10th October 2023.
Enrolment for 2024 Preschool
If your child is turning 3 before February 2024, and you would like to enrol for Preschool. Please complete the EOI form which will be on the Canowindra Pre-school Kindergarten Inc Face Book Page from the 21st September and close on Wednesday 11th October.

Book Week
Your children can dress up as their favourite book character from Tuesday - Friday.
Each year the children’s book council of Australia brings children and books together celebrating Children's Book Week ®. Throughout the year, the CBCA works in partnership with authors, illustrators, publishers, booksellers and other organisations in the children’s book world to bring words, images and stories into the hearts and minds of children and adults.

PJ Week
National Pyjama Day (we are having a week) is all about wearing your favourite pair of PJ’s to help The Pyjama Foundation raise much-needed awareness and funds for children in foster care. If you can please make a gold coin donation so that we can support the cause.
Professional Learning Staff Only
